APEX PHYSIO & WELLNESS

Physiotherapy

Evidence-based rehabilitation that treats the root cause, not just the symptoms. Restoring function, reducing pain, and helping you move with confidence.

WHAT IS PHYSIOTHERAPY?

Movement Science in Practice.

Physiotherapy is a regulated health profession grounded in movement science, anatomy, and evidence-based clinical practice. At Apex Physio & Wellness, our physiotherapy approach goes beyond treating the site of pain. We assess your movement patterns, strength imbalances, and lifestyle factors to understand why the problem developed — and build a plan that resolves it at the root.

Our physiotherapist Dr. Sarah Mitchell, MPT, FCAMPT, holds a Fellowship in the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy, placing her among a highly trained group of clinicians across Canada certified in advanced spinal and extremity manual therapy. Manual therapy — including joint mobilization, manipulation, and soft tissue techniques — is used alongside individualized exercise programs that you can carry out independently to build lasting strength and resilience.

Physiotherapy is effective for a broad range of conditions, from acute sports injuries and motor vehicle accidents to chronic postural dysfunction and post-surgical rehabilitation. Whether you're an athlete working to return to sport, a desk worker managing persistent neck pain, or someone recovering from a knee replacement, the care is tailored specifically to your body, your goals, and your timeline.

Consistent, progressive rehabilitation — not passive treatment — is what produces lasting results. We'll give you the tools and the knowledge to take an active role in your recovery. Our patients don't just feel better at the end of their course of treatment; they understand their body better and leave with the confidence to manage their own wellness long-term.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Your First Physiotherapy Visit.

Your initial session is a conversation as much as a treatment. We take time to understand your history before we touch you.

1

Comprehensive Assessment

Your first visit begins with a detailed intake — health history, mechanism of injury, prior treatments, and your specific goals. Sarah will then conduct a movement screening, assess joint range of motion, test muscle strength and neural tension, and perform any relevant orthopedic tests. This thorough picture is what allows her to identify the root cause rather than just treating the area of pain.

2

Treatment Plan & First Treatment

Following the assessment, Sarah will explain her clinical findings in plain language and outline a realistic treatment plan including frequency of visits and expected timeline. Most first sessions include hands-on manual therapy and exercise education so you leave with something actionable. A personalized home exercise program is provided through a digital app for easy reference.

3

Follow-Up & Progress Tracking

Subsequent sessions build on the initial treatment plan. Sarah tracks your progress at each visit and adjusts the exercise program and manual therapy techniques as you improve. The goal is always to reduce your dependence on in-clinic treatment over time — building the capacity for you to maintain your results independently.
