Chiropractic Care

Modern, evidence-based chiropractic focused on spinal alignment, joint mechanics, and the relationship between structural health and everyday function.

WHAT IS CHIROPRACTIC CARE?

Beyond the Adjustment.

Modern chiropractic care is about far more than "cracking backs." While spinal manipulation remains one of the most well-studied and effective interventions for certain types of back and neck pain, the contemporary chiropractic approach encompasses joint assessment, soft tissue therapy, rehabilitation exercise, postural correction, and patient education. Dr. Aisha Osei practices this broader, evidence-based model of chiropractic — one that aims to produce lasting structural change rather than temporary symptom relief.

The spine houses and protects the spinal cord, and the nerves that exit between each vertebra supply the entire body. When spinal segments are restricted in their movement — due to injury, poor posture, repetitive strain, or disc degeneration — it can alter the biomechanics of adjacent joints, contribute to muscle tightness and fatigue, and in some cases affect nerve function. Chiropractic assessment identifies these dysfunctional segments and restores proper joint mechanics through targeted, controlled adjustment techniques.

Dr. Osei's approach places a strong emphasis on patient education. She wants her patients to understand the biomechanical basis of their pain, what perpetuating factors may be at play (whether a workstation setup, movement habits, or load management), and what they can do between visits to support their recovery. A well-informed patient makes better decisions between appointments, which accelerates progress significantly. Many of her patients remark that they learned more about their spine in one visit than in years of managing pain on their own.

Dr. Osei works with a wide range of patients — from sedentary desk workers with chronic neck and shoulder tension to active individuals managing disc herniation, sacroiliac joint dysfunction, or sports-related joint injuries. She has additional training in sports chiropractic and extremity adjusting, meaning she addresses not only the spine but also the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, and ankle joints when clinically indicated.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Your First Chiropractic Visit.

Dr. Osei takes a thorough, systematic approach. The assessment comes before anything else — so the treatment is always clinically justified.

1

Postural Analysis & Orthopedic Testing

Your first visit includes a standing postural analysis, range of motion testing for the spine and relevant extremity joints, orthopedic and neurological screening tests, and a detailed case history. Dr. Osei is thorough — she wants to understand the full picture of your health before determining the most appropriate course of care.

2

Personalized Adjustment Plan

Based on her assessment, Dr. Osei will explain her findings and walk you through her recommended treatment plan — including which joint segments she plans to address, the techniques she'll use, the expected frequency of visits, and her realistic estimate of your recovery timeline. First-visit treatment is always with your explicit consent and comfort in mind.

3

X-Ray Referral if Indicated

In some cases — particularly where there is a history of trauma, suspected structural changes, or advanced degenerative disc disease — Dr. Osei may recommend diagnostic imaging to guide her treatment approach safely. She will explain clearly when and why imaging is warranted, and provide a referral to an appropriate facility if needed.
